The Who, What, Why and Where

Twilio is growing rapidly and seeking a Content Editor (12-month contract), who will edit SEO-driven, resource-focused blog posts and articles that live on Twilio.com and SendGrid.com. The individual in this role is passionate about examining copy with a fine-tooth comb, fixing grammar/spelling errors, fact-checking and managing multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment. 

This person reports to the Director of Content Marketing within the Developer Network, working closely with content marketers, writers and content creators.  

Who?

Twilio is looking for a teammate who lives the Twilio Magic, and has a proven track record of editing for clarity. They should have: 

  • 3+ years of experience copy editing or working in an editorial capacity. Ideally is familiar with technical and non-technical subjects for a line-of-business audience;
  • Some experience working with external vendors; 
  • College degree preferred, ideally in communications, journalism, English;
  • Excellent writing and storytelling skills; communication and prioritization skills; project management and fact-checking skills;
  • Familiar with AP Style; 
  • Comfortable managing multiple projects; 
  • SEO knowledge preferred;
  • A keen eye for detail

  • WRITE IT DOWN: Improve existing SEO-driven, resource-focused content; edit constantly and re-write as needed; 
  • DRAW THE OWL: Propose and implement new and meaningful ways of leveraging content, enabling our teams, etc.
  • WEAR THE CUSTOMER’S SHOES: Become an expert in the customer's narrative and work to answer their questions through clear, concise copy. 
  • EMPOWER OTHERS: Interact extensively across the content marketing teams.
  • RUTHLESSLY PRIORITIZE: Maintain style guides for our blog content, identify opportunities to leverage content and teach others how to improve their copy.

In accordance with applicable law, the following represents Twilio's reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation for this role if hired in Colorado. Please note that this information is provided for those hired in Colorado only, and this role is open to candidates outside of Colorado as well. 

Salary:

Denver/Boulder Metro:

Salary Range: $36.03 - $45.04

Rest of Colorado:

Salary Range: $31.53 - $39.41
