The Marketing & Communications team is responsible for connecting the world to lifelong transformative learning. They also work to shape public conversations on the future of education and work. The team is segmented into four areas of focus: Consumer Marketing, Enterprise Marketing, Brand & Creative, and Communications. The team is currently focused on expanding the reach of Coursera’s brand and bringing new learners to the site, connecting students to degree programs, attracting new enterprise customers — including businesses, governments, and campuses — and creating a marketing system that nurtures learners throughout their professional lives.

The Creative Operations Manager will report to the Creative Director within the Brand and Creative team and will be an essential leader by managing creative planning and operations for designers, writers, and engineers through the development of impactful cross-channel global marketing solutions that inspire and empower a world of learning.

You will enhance operational excellence and establish best in class standards for effective cross-functional collaboration as we deliver high quality and distinctive creative work on budget and on time. 

Responsibilities:

    • Develop operational efficiencies within the creative marketing process
    • Lead creative planning and prioritization at a quarterly and weekly base for marketing designers, writers, and engineers
    • At a project level, partner with Creative and cross-functional teams to develop project timelines, milestones, deliverables, and requirements, effectively communicating project and workload tradeoffs
    • Manage weekly sprint planning and creative ticket grooming sessions to ensure project definition clarity, department alignment on project prioritization, and resource availability
    • Proactively elevate risks and confidently propose solutions that lead to project success while building and strengthening relationships with internal and external partners at Coursera
    • Manage creative freelancers and production budget across marketing projects

Basic Qualifications:

    • 5+ years as a Creative Producer, Product Manager, or Project Manager with experience working directly with creative teams and is responsible for resource planning, budget management, risk mitigation, and operational efficiency within a marketing team
    • Experience supporting product and marketing  teams and leading creative teams in the development of customer solutions that drive business impact
    • Background in Jira,  Agile, and/or has served as a Scrum master
    • Experience integrating operational efficiencies within creative management, from refining our creative ticketing process to implementing new technologies like asset management and tracking systems
    • Demonstrated history of cross-functional collaboration with clear project roadmaps and expectations
    • Experience producing and or project managing omni-channel campaigns, website design and development, videos, and paid and social media deliverables
    • Demonstrated history in presenting to executive leadership with the ability to positively influence at all levels

Preferred Qualifications:

    • Developing and managing project timelines through project management systems like Gantt, Wrike, Jira, etc
    • Skilled at stack ranking initiatives, forecasting business impact and risks of initiatives, and recognizing trade offs
    • Bringing together the right cross functional people/teams to frame and answer difficult or ambiguous questions and develop effective solutions
    • Passion for education and bringing opportunity to the world is a plus
