Director, Content Strategy & Operations

As Content Lead for the Revenue Content Team, this role will lead both strategy and day-to-day execution for all enterprise content development. You’ll develop and drive a roadmap that transforms content into a leading acquisition and retention channel for the brand by working closely with leadership across Demand Generation, Product Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success teams. The Content Lead will also manage a growing team of content strategists, content producers, and content writers committed to publishing a regular stream of content that educates, inspires, and converts a range of audiences with regard to enterprise software and the GitHub mission. During critical enterprise product moments and initiatives, they’ll lead and advise on communication and content strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Steer GitHub’s content marketing ship, coordinating with creative, analytics, paid media and our social media to make sure we have the right content strategy and translate it across GitHub channels
  • Manage a team of Content Writers, Content Operations Managers, and Producers
  • Partner closely with Sales, Product Marketing, Demand Generation, and Creative to develop cohesive marketing plans and content
  • Partner closely with Brand and Product Content leads to develop and ensure consistent content messaging across teams
  • Create and own an integrated editorial strategy and marketing calendar, with a focus on key stories, product and feature launches, and industry trends
  • Manage brand and content marketing budget and expenditures
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration across content, product, engineering, and marketing teams, helping inform the product vision and ensuring strategic alignment on growth and engagement initiatives
  • Influence and develop standardized reporting processes and act as a spokesperson for the Content Team in collaborative business groups
  • Oversee monthly deliverables and provide updates to business partners
  • Work closely with the Revenue leadership to manage priorities and resources for the department and find ways to be most efficient in resource utilization and most impactful in communicating key messages
