The Marketing & Communications team is responsible for connecting the world to lifelong transformative learning. They work to shape public conversations on the future of education and work. The team is segmented into four areas of focus: Consumer Marketing, Enterprise Marketing, Brand & Creative, and Communications. The team is currently focused on expanding the reach of Coursera’s brand and bringing new learners to the site, connecting students to degree programs, attracting new enterprise customers — including businesses, governments, and campuses — and creating a marketing system that nurtures learners throughout their professional lives. 


    • Set the vision and strategy for Coursera’s marketing and recruiting efforts for Online  Degrees, Certificates, and individual courses
    • Lead, attract, and retain a high performing team of marketing leaders, managers, and enrollment advisors
    • Own ambitious yearly growth targets for online degree and certificate student recruitment at industry-low acquisition cost, to deliver high quality student cohorts to our partners and affordable high quality learning to our students
    • Be a knowledge expert for global higher education marketing and recruiting - both for industry best practices and for Coursera’s unique model 
    • Collaborate with and influence key decisions with cross-functional partners in Data Science, Product, Partnerships, and Services to drive major improvements in Coursera’s unique marketing system and company-wide results
    • Improve team efficiency and leverage as our degree and certificate marketing efforts scale around the world

Basic Qualifications

    • 10+ years experience in marketing and recruitment, with experience managing full cycle student recruitment and enrollment for multiple online degrees and/or certificate programs, either at an institution of higher education or a company supporting higher education
    • Track record of owning and delivering on recruitment targets
    • Demonstrated experience building and managing a high performing and diverse team of marketers and/or enrollment professionals
    • Background in student enrollment compliance in higher education marketing and student acquisition
    • Analytical skills and experience with marketing and CRM tools to support full cycle student recruitment

Preferred Qualifications

    • Work experience both within an institution of higher education managing online programs and/or Online Program Management company or related ed tech company
    • Built and led high performing 20+ person teams
    • Expert at understanding and defining target audience segments and unique value propositions for diverse educational offerings
    • Experience in marketing and recruiting for degree programs on a global scale, for university programs and students located both in and outside the United States
    • Thrives in high growth and innovation-rich environments. 
    • Experience with innovative models and sales automation strategies.
    • Excellent partnership and communication skills at an executive level
    • Passion for improving access to education on a global scale
    • Experience communicating at an executive level
