Director of Content Marketing

Paper is seeking a talented content marketing professional to help build the company’s recognition as a leading education support system for K-12 school districts nationwide. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, the Director of Content Marketing will help pioneer this effort, shaping and executing the content strategy and plan. In this role, you will be responsible for developing the editorial calendar and delivering high-impact content and multimedia experiences. The ideal candidate has proven expertise in setting processes for building a content strategy that aligns with business objectives, developing and measuring the success of assets, and aligning cross-functional teams around unified goals. 



  • Editorial Calendar: Create and deliver against an editorial calendar that meets the needs of multiple stakeholders (buyers, influencers, users, and industry experts) at all stages of the journey - from awareness to consideration, to close and delight. 
  • Rich Set of Assets: Develop unique, emotionally-charged and high-quality content on a regular cadence, ensuring we have fresh, up to date assets for brand, thought leadership, acquisition, and customer campaigns.
  • Multimedia Experiences: Explore new ways to engage with and drive thought leadership and messaging across all audiences, including video, infographics, interactive content, podcasts, polls and surveys, research reports, social media, print, and more. 
  • Analytics-driven: Use data and analytics to continually measure the impact of content and optimize content marketing programs across all channels.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with various subject matter experts, whether within the business or external thought leaders, to ensure content delivers against market needs, company positioning, and above the noise campaigns. 
  • People Management: Provide leadership to a growing team, through guidance, support, and communication of a clear vision. Expand team, as needed, to ensure we have the right resources and skill sets to support the exponential growth of the business. 



Requirements & Core Skill Sets

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in marketing, journalism, communications
  • 7+ years’ experience in B2B enterprise SaaS companies developing high-quality content in the form of thought leadership, marketing and sales collateral, website and social media writing, and more
  • Experience in Education, Government, Politics, Non-Profit is a plus
  • Commitment to smart and engaging storytelling, social listening, and creating meaningful experiences for a diverse audience
  • Proven experience creating content across several mediums (blogs, guides, product sheets, byline/media pitches, infographics, podcasts, videos, etc.).
  • Proven experience in generating highly creative, emotionally charged content
  • Proven experience in catering to multiple stakeholders across customer’s journey
  • Ability to collect and synthesize feedback from multiple sources, from technical to creative
  • Hands-on experience with on-page SEO
  • Strong writing and editing skills. 
  • Strong foundational knowledge of content management
  • Exceptional attitude; able to work in a very dynamic environment
