About the role

We are looking for an experienced content marketing strategist to lead our team as we plan, create, and measure high-quality, high-performing content across multiple go-to-market programs.

Working closely with partners across marketing and external agencies, this individual will lead Maven’s content strategy, developing programs that will support demand generation, establish and extend our brand and thought leadership, and support our mission in transforming women’s and family health care (fertility, maternity, parenting, and pediatrics).

This leader will guide and support our rapidly growing team as we conceive, execute, and measure our multi-channel content marketing strategy. This will include strategic planning, cross-functional collaboration with other teams, prioritization, standard-setting, and brand leadership. In addition, this role will be responsible for supervising the content team’s creative output in terms of capacity, commitments, brand, and voice. The content marketing lead will also, in partnership with other stakeholders, be responsible for setting content performance objectives and then measuring and managing that performance. The successful candidate will be an exceptional writer and editor capable of ideating and producing content and supporting other team members in content development and execution.

  • Build and execute content program strategies that support and amplify our short- and long-term marketing initiatives and campaigns.
  • Develop strategies that balance and leverage both human factors and technical (e.g. SEO) factors.
  • Work creatively and cross functionally to support the needs of other teams with clarity, predictability, and transparency.
  • Establish and drive content strategy objectives in terms of brand, awareness, and thought leadership for your team, across marketing, and throughout Maven.
  • Commit to creating content that reflects a deep understanding of what prospects and customers need and want.
  • Using a unique balance of creativity and data, leverage and analyze feedback from customers to improve the content experience.
  • Lead measurement and reporting on content performance; make recommendations and optimize content based on results.
  • Grow, develop, and lead a team of content marketing professionals who are consistently excited about the mission, feel confident in their ability to get work done, and have the skills to deliver consistently and effectively.
  • Effectively manage contractors and agency resources as necessary to support business objectives.
  • Manage objectives and budgets to plan.

  • 10+ years of editorial experience, ideally in the B2B tech/enterprise software space (health care experience is highly desired, but not required)
  • Proven team leader with great interpersonal skills and the ability to work cross-functionally, make hard decisions, and motivate others.
  • Strong portfolio of published work that demonstrates exceptional editorial leadership, writing skills, and the ability to translate complex topics into simple, digestible content.
  • Experience developing and leading SEO best practices in content marketing and ability to leverage tools such as Google Analytics, SEMRush, AHREFs.
  • Demonstrated passion for engaging customers with the work you create and oversee.
  • A thinker and a doer mindset—excited about driving strategy while maintaining the ability to roll up your sleeves to get into the work when needed.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to deliver feedback thoughtfully and receive it gracefully.
  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail.
  • Curiosity and interest in women’s and family health care.
