We’re looking for a trailblazer to be the Director of Marketing Operations & Analytics for Mattermost. In this role, you will build and lead a function that is responsible for leading, defining, and maintaining all marketing systems - inclusive of development, operations, and analytics platforms -  to enable scalable revenue growth.

Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing, this individual is a highly-quantitative, data-first leader with expertise in building marketing technology stacks. In this role, you will lead all marketing operations initiatives globally, from strategy to execution, for a high-growth B2B technology company that is executing a bottom’s up, product-led growth motion, targeting a developer audience. 

This role is a people manager and will build and manage a team of direct reports within approximately 12 months. 


    • Strategically owning all marketing technology platforms and initiatives– including marketing automation, email marketing, lead scoring, nurturing, attribution systems, and more
    • Translating marketing/business requirements into systems and technical operations – overseeing the ongoing development, implementation, operations and maintenance of the full marketing technology stack and integration with the product and business systems of record (i.e.
    • Ensuring data integrity and flow through the various integration stages smoothly and present the quantified data in a form that allows us to better track, understand, and report on every step of the business process
    • Guiding the full development and implementation process for all marketing technologies including: scoping, analyzing, designing, developing, testing, documenting, and training front-end users
    • Performing advanced data analysis and modelling, including defining, measuring and communicating core operational metrics; develop and publish reports, dashboards, presentations and tools to help marketing tie efforts to business results
    • Identifying and implementing solutions to improve sales and marketing effectiveness across a range of areas, such as customer segmentation, sales resource optimization, sales process, marketing campaign ROI and attribution (multi-touch), utilizing technologies and platforms to enable alignment
    • Forecasting and reporting on through-the-funnel results of all marketing activities
    • Provide horizontal operational support to vertical functional areas such as communications and product marketing


    • 10 years experience with a minimum of 5 years experience in a people management role. Candidates with previous B2B technology SaaS experience and experience marketing to a developer community are strongly preferred
    • Experience supporting marketing, product, and sales initiatives within a Product-Led Growth funnel
    • Expertise and demonstrated track record in defining, implementing, and optimizing lead management processes, demand waterfall frameworks, and related reporting and analytics
    • Deep expertise with marketing automation, CRM solutions and reporting solutions such as Marketo,, LeanData, and Looker
    • Exceedingly collaborative but resourceful - comfortable leading efforts while coordinating with other members, while maintaining an “owner” mentality and driving projects to completion
    • Proactive and creative problem-solver with the ability to identify problems and solve them independently
    • Highly organized, strong attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced startup environment
    • Ambitious self-starter with demonstrated ability and willingness to roll up sleeves and execute
    • Exceptional EQ, communication skills, and ability to develop and maintain interpersonal relationships up, down, and across the organization
    • Willingness to wear multiple hats, and ability to deliver high-quality results in a rapidly-evolving environment
