As a Lead SEO Manager, you will be responsible for the success of a team of SEO Managers who report directly to you in addition to managing a rotating list of clients that require more in-depth work(~20). This is a leadership role, which means you will not only be expected to conduct high-quality work for your clients, but also come alongside your team members and help them do the same.
As a leader you will serve as a mentor to the SEO Managers in your vertical by protecting their time, coordinating with the marketing team on their behalf, answering their questions and helping them grow as experts in SEO. You will work closely with new hires to ensure they are trained properly and work closely with the Senior Director of SEO to define best practices and strategies for SEO in your vertical. Your goal is to not only level up your team’s understanding of SEO but also the understanding of SEO in other departments by responding to questions and providing expert insight for specific campaigns when needed.
While this role is not an “account management” role in the traditional sense of the term, you will be expected to interface with clients as requested and assist your SEO team and marketing team members with SEO-related client conversations.
