As Marketing Operations Manager, you will own Gusto’s martech stack and be responsible for the delivery and execution of initiatives for Gusto’s Marketing teams. You will be at the heart of the marketing function enabling our business to scale more efficiently and achieving our full marketing potential. 

You will collaborate closely with stakeholders in Marketing, Sales, Revenue Operations, and Engineering. This role is also responsible for bringing thought leadership on marketing technology, automation, and foundational data analytics to enable our marketers to run effective and efficient campaigns.

Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day:

  • Own and define Gusto’s marketing tech stack - Define the Marketing Operations strategy and roadmap. Identify areas where technology and automation can lead to repeatable, efficient, and effective marketing campaigns. Partner with marketing leaders to understand their respective MarTech capability needs related to business objectives and customer outcomes and contribute to scaling go-to-market strategies by enabling technologies and custom workflows. 
  • Enable integration of systems and data - Own the integration of marketing data and systems with rest of Gusto data and systems. Ensure marketing data and systems are synced with Gusto’s enterprise data warehouse and other key systems (Salesforce). Contribute to the development of best in class lifecycle analytics, empowering marketers to understand the end-to-end customer journey and unlock opportunities for growth.
  • Implement new technologies, improve processes - Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders from Marketing, Business Technology (BizTech), Revenue Operations, and Engineering to lead business-side implementations of new marketing technologies and associated processes.
  • Build and execute lifecycle campaigns - Own day-to-day campaign operations. Manage contractors and/or employees to build and execute Gusto’s lifecycle marketing campaigns via email (Marketo) and in-app messages (Intercom, etc) to support a rapidly scaling campaign calendar.

Here’s what we're looking for:

  • 7+ years of experience in marketing operations or a related position
  • 3+ years of systems experience, including CRM tools (Salesforce, Dynamics), marketing automation platforms (Marketo, Eloqua, Pardot), contact enrichment tools (Clearbit, Datanyze), and sales enablement tools (PersistIQ, Outreach.io)
  • Strong structured, process driven mindset, with a focus on building for scale
  • Love, live, and breathe marketing automation technology and are up to speed on all the latest trends
  • Deep understanding of the lead-to-revenue demand funnel, with experience in cross-sell, upsell, and retention (B2B experience preferred)
  • Proactive, self directed, strategic thinker able to implement complex workflows
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Working experience with lifecycle analytics, including using business intelligence to improve lifecycle marketing. SQL & SOQL experience a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience

Our cash compensation range for this role is $102,000/yr to $126,000/yr in Denver & most remote locations, and $123,000/yr to $152,000/yr in San Francisco & New York. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above.
