About the Role

Gusto is growing our offering to mid-market businesses across the US. You will own go-to-market strategy and roadmap influence to this customer segment. You’ll partner with product managers and sales teams to ensure customer needs directly influence product strategy.

We’re looking for an execution-oriented product marketer to own the growth of Gusto’s payroll offering to mid-market businesses.

You’ll combine data analysis, segmentation, positioning, go-to-market planning and go-to-market execution to define how we bring new and existing product offerings to mid-market businesses. You’ll identify, prioritize, and accelerate the growth of our offering by partnering with product, design, channel marketing, lifecycle marketing, and data analytics teams. You’ll use data to demonstrate the success of your work.

If you are a full-stack marketer with a customer mindset and ambition to accelerate a company on a mission to help small and mid-market businesses grow, we’d love to hear from you!

Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day:

  • Develop positioning and messaging for products that inspires customers and drives action.
  • Influence the product roadmap by continually refining and synthesizing your understanding of the market and customers we serve.
  • Strategize with sales leadership on what sales enablement materials and practices are needed to supercharge go-to-market. Oversee the material development process, co-own the numbers.
  • Execute go-to-market campaigns to drive product adoption and growth. Prove efficacy with testing and success metrics.
  • Understand customer needs through market analysis, surveys, interviews, and product usage data. Use understanding to impact strategy.

Here’s what we're looking for:

  • 5+ years of work experience, 3+ in product marketing, strategy roles and/or product management.
  • A wildly curious, strategic and quantitative person who uses data to solve problems.
  • A go getter, experienced in driving and launching go-to-market campaigns.
  • A storyteller, able to craft compelling positioning with a customer first mindset. Experience conducting user and market research a plus.
  • A track record earning the respect of product, design, and engineering teams.
  • An influencer that can work well with various groups and levels of the organization.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including editing others’ work and coaching others’ presentations.
  • BA/BS degree. MBA a plus but not required.
