We're building a world-class team at Yelp, and we're searching for a Senior Copywriter to help us shape creative strategies while crafting great copy, and have a good time while you’re at it. 
As a Senior Copywriter, you'll play a key role in shaping Yelp's brand, working hand-in-hand with our creative partners. You'll be responsible for distilling the essence of Yelp's brand personality into written communications that connect with our audience—in other words, telling great stories that our customers want to see and hear. You'll also be responsible for translating marketing objectives into clear creative strategies and concepts that can be executed and delivered on time—ultimately creating solutions that drive measurable impact for our partners and customers.
Reporting to our Creative Director, you will be working with a team made up of designers, illustrators, animators, project managers... you know, creatives. People like you. You'll need to be a natural, hands-on writer developing innovative concepts and executing beautiful creative solutions alongside your team. While also beginning to mentor, inspire, and grow others around you.

This is a full time remote position located in the United States.

Where you come in:

    • You will be responsible for the execution of copy and creative ideas across multiple channels and platforms.
    • You will help craft strategic direction and articulate the "what" and "why" while being able to execute against the "how."
    • You will promote strategic thinking internally.
    • You will present your ideas, internally and with our vendors, in a way that people will understand, and hopefully be really excited about. Yes, we want you to write great copy as well as articulate your ideas succinctly and clearly.
    • You will help drive creative and operational excellence across the team.
    • You will be responsible for working with internal partners to deliver work on time and in line with Yelp's brand style.
    • You will define and refine the process/approach for tackling a problem and leading others toward that solution.
    • You will actively collaborate and seek out partnerships with cross-functional peers.
    • You will contribute to the ongoing development team member's process, methods, and culture overall.
    • You will be an integral member of the creative organization, supporting recruiting and hiring practices.
    • You will actively contribute to team critiques and reviews.
    • You will drive cross-functional meetings. 

What it takes to succeed:

    • You have 5–10 years experience in an agency or in-house team environment; having contributed to multiple creative campaigns and led solutions for individual projects.
    • You have a long history of bringing joy to everything you do, and playing well with others (people enjoy being stuck in the airport with you).
    • You are open to opinions and perspectives that challenge existing beliefs; willing to evolve your stance based on new information.
    • You are meticulous in crafting and attention to copy details.
    • You have excellent written communication skills that can be employed for brand storytelling or guiding a user through an experience.
    • You love digital platforms from social media to online video campaigns.
    • You have general working knowledge of Figma, Sketch, and Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat, and yes, Google Docs Editors Suite.
    • You have experience writing for a B2B and/or B2C product-based company is a plus.
    • You have a deep experience doing well crafted, smart, and on strategy 360 campaigns.
