Senior Director, Brand Marketing

Paper is seeking a talented brand marketer to help solidify the company’s recognition as a leading education support system for K-12 school districts nationwide. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, the Senior Director of Brand marketing will be responsible for developing unique brand guidelines and creative direction, delivering high-impact content, and building corporate communications strategies to reach industry experts across multiple channels. Collaborating with Paper’s marketing, sales, and customer teams, you will ensure all teams are speaking with an aligned voice. Top candidates will have a demonstrated track record of success in KPI-driven brand management & marketing. In this role, you’ll have a unique chance to elevate our exciting, yet nascent brand both in reach and sophistication as we quickly grow to become a household name. 




  • Brand Voice: Define the overarching brand messaging and voice in order to effectively fulfill business objectives while communicating a unique brand position in the industry.
  • Content Strategy: Build and own the content strategy and calendar spanning across every stakeholder touchpoint to deliver unique, emotionally-charged and high-quality content across all mediums (video, interactive, digital, print, etc.). 
  • Creative Direction: Ensure highly unique and engaging creatives across all assets, that truly sets Paper apart from other edtech and SaaS businesses, as well as represents our core mission and values. 
  • Communications: Create and drive a communications strategy that allows Paper to build brand presence across all social media channels, as well as broader media publications and industry groups. 
  • Customer-obsessed: Anticipate what customers want to know and how to best deliver the message, delivering fresh ideas for stories, multimedia experiences, and new ways to engage with our audience.
  • Analytics-driven: Use performance results to continually optimize brand campaigns, content, and communications to drive maximum results across all channels.
  • People Management: Provide leadership to a growing team, through guidance, support, and communication of a clear vision. Expand team, as needed, to ensure we have the right resources and skill sets to support the exponential growth of the business. 




  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in marketing, journalism, communications
  • 10+ years’ experience developing brand messaging, campaigns, content, and creatives to establish/elevate a company’s industry presence
  • Experience working with education, government, politics, non-profit is a plus
  • Commitment to smart, engaging, emotionally-charged storytelling and creating meaningful experiences for a diverse audience
  • Proven experience delivering content & campaigns across mediums and channels (blogs, guides, infographics, videos, podcasts, media pitches, events, print, digital, etc.).
  • Strong foundational knowledge of brand marketing, content management, industry relationship building
  • Strong creative, writing and editing, and communications skills. 
  • Experience building and leading teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Exceptional attitude and flexibility; ability to collaborate and work autonomously
