Sourcegraph is seeking a creative and analytical Marketing Operations leader to join the Demand Generation group. In this role, you will lead all aspects of marketing operations to ensure we have the platforms and processes in place to attract, convert, nurture, and optimize a pipeline of high-quality contacts. This is a foundational role within the organization with unlimited potential to impact the company. 

Sourcegraph helps developers and companies with billions of lines of code create and manage the software you use every day. The Demand Generation team partners with marketing and sales to increase awareness of Sourcegraph’s universal code search solutions and drive demand to hit pipeline and revenue goals. We do this with strategic, targeted, highly measurable online and offline programs.

You are a passionate people-leader with a track record of designing and implementing best-in-class marketing systems and processes from data infrastructure to marketing automation and reporting. You will report to the Director of Demand Generation and be responsible for growing a team of brilliant marketers, one person at a time.


    • MarTech Stack - own the MarTech stack and drive the evaluation, implementation, and maintenance of tools and technologies to meet the business needs
    • Data Integrity - manage and grow marketing databases that power analytics, audience targeting, and personalization while putting stewardship of our user’s data first
    • Lead Scoring and Routing - partner with SalesOps to build and implement a model and process for passing our highest quality leads to sales development
    • Marketing Automation - own the systems and processes for marketing automation and demand generation campaign management, lead routing, and data integration
    • Testing - Drive methodical testing initiatives to improve marketing performance
    • Analytics and Reporting - Work with cross-organization operations teams to refine business analytics and build dashboards to measure all parts of the demand generation engine
    • People Leadership - Create a vision and build a team that is passionate about evolving our capabilities in a way that fuels marketing’s agility, creativity, and impact on our audience and the business


    • Proven ability to build a marketing operations team around a vision that drives business results while providing an epic internal and external customer experience
    • Passionate about using data to answer critical business questions and drive decision making
    • Experience with a variety of marketing technologies from both a strategic and hands-on-keyboard perspective (e.g. Google Analytics, GitHub, Eloqua, Hubspot, Marketo, Looker, Evergage, HotJar, etc.)
    • Mastery of advanced concepts around campaign flows, nurturing, and other marketing automation campaign capabilities
    • Deep understanding of data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Datorama, Tableau, etc.)
    • Salesforce expertise with a deep understanding of CRM systems
    • Experience implementing ABM technologies and facilitating successful ABM demand generation strategies
    • Comfortable taking ambiguous requirements and shaping them into high-impact marketing technologies solutions using independent thinking and sound judgment
    • Excels at direction-setting, consensus-building, and communication in a dynamic, collaborative culture
    • Excited about working at an all-remote company


    • Experience with SQL and Python (or other similar languages)
    • Hubspot certifications
    • Experience with hyper-growth organizations and/or companies
    • A passion for open source software
