Role Summary: GEM is looking for a Social Media & Content Manager to own & manage our digital presence across multiple social platforms. You’ll tell the story of GEM and increase our brand awareness by harnessing the power of our products, vision & customers in creative and compelling ways. We’re looking for a writer and storyteller at heart – someone who pushes boundaries and knows how to marry words with visuals to nurture a new perspective on how we nourish our bodies and planet. We’re looking for a self-starter, someone deeply immersed in trends, and someone who is curious and excited to take our content to new heights. You will work closely with our Marketing team, including our talented designers & copywriter.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for ultimately growing our followers and engagement across multiple platforms like Instagram, Facebook & LinkedIn and introducing GEM to newer platforms, like TikTok.

  • You understand the quick churn of social media trends and know how to utilize these – and forge new ones – to tell a captivating story that reaches the hearts and minds of humankind
  • You have impeccable organizational skills and a deep understanding of social media KPIs, analysis, and reporting practices
  • You are curious and cultivate a test-and-learn mindset
  • You move fast while paying attention to detail, and you are a “maker” by nature
  • You feel connected to GEM’s mission and desire to work collaboratively to lead a movement towards making a positive impact in people’s lives

What You’ll Do:

  • Own the full lifecycle of GEM’s social media presence, by managing content roadmap, posting, and engagement; including owning the social media content calendar, determining appropriate timelines for posting, and optimizing content across each platform
  •  Build a social strategy that can extend to new accounts on emerging social platforms
  • Ideate and collaborate with our Marketing and Design team to produce and syndicate assets and content to tell compelling and captivating stories
  • Oversee community management on our platforms by driving engagement with customers
  • Nurture a large and expansive audience to acquire new customers and brand loyalists 
  • Monitor trends, popular hashtags, and social media challenges to adapt for GEM’s channels and lead an innovative content strategy
  • Source customer-generated content and lead social partnerships to drive engagement and inspire community-based growth
  • Manage social dashboard and KPIs reporting into the Head of Digital Product


  • 1-4 years working in the social media space, creating digital content for a brand or agency 
  • You have your finger on the pulse of all social media trends, new platforms, and best practices 
  • Team player with the ability to collaborate with a small remote team
  • Experience with social media tools like Later
  • Independent and self-motivated

A plus if:

  • You have experience with paid social media
  • You have an eye for design
  • Video skills
